MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a show cause order against the lady rider in a viral road rage incident and confiscated her driver’s license.
Alyana Mari Aguinaldo also got called out by Sen. JV Ejercito following her heated altercation with the driver of a Nissan Navara on a dirt road in Zambales.
Aguinaldo posted a video on Facebook on April 29 when she was on a motorbike and encountered the pickup driver, who was traveling at a slow speed on the bumpy road.
Aguinaldo, who was behind the pickup, decided to speed up, and upon reaching the driver’s right side, she flipped a middle finger at him. The video also showed the lady rider and the pickup driver having a heated verbal confrontation when she stopped on the road.
According to LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II, his office asked Aguinaldo, known as “Yanna,” to explain her actions in the road rage incident in Zambales that became viral on social media.
Aguinaldo was also ordered to appear at LTO headquarters in Quezon City on May 6 (Tuesday) at 2:00 p.m. and submit her written explanation.
Her driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days, and she was asked to surrender it to the LTO.
“She should have used her social media influence to promote responsible driving and road safety,” Mendoza said in a statement.
Aguinaldo publicly apologized for her actions on Thursday.
“I would like to take this opportunity to say sorry,” Aguinaldo said in a video message.
“This issue is all on me, I am still learning, this one especially, the hard way,” she added.
Having called out Aguinaldo, Ejercito, in a Facebook post on Friday, said: “Though there was a public apology by Yanna on video last night, there should be action from the appropriate government agency LTO to discipline drivers or riders on the road.”

“We should never tolerate this kind of behavior,” Ejercito said, adding: “Yanna should learn from this incident.”
