MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Thursday said it plans to provide P400,000 to families of each deceased passengers in the fatal multi-vehicle crash along the Subic – Clark – Tarlac expressway (SCTEX) P400,000.
LTFRB chair Teofilo Guadiz III made the pronouncement after a highway crash—triggered by a passenger bus—resulted in the deaths of 10 persons and injuries to at least 37 others.

“I instructed PAMI (Passenger Accident Management & Insurance Agency) to immediately address the needs of those who are involved in the road crash,” Guadiz told INQUIRER.net.
“They should start identifying the dead bodies and indemnify the families (P400,000 each dead passenger),” he added.
Initial investigation from Police Regional Office Central Luzon showed that the accident occurred at around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, right during Labor Day, when the passenger bus hit an SUV which was at full stop along with other vehicles at the second lane (northbound) of the SCTEX toll plaza.
The strong impact resulted in a ripple effect, with the SUV also crashing into the other vehicles in front of it.
Following the accident, the DOTr already ordered the suspension of the bus operator, Solid North Bus Transit Inc.
