An investigation is under way after a woman in her 60s was seriously injured in an hit-and-run involving an electronic scrambler in Dublin yesterday.

The incident occurred on Gardiner Street in Dublin 1 at 7.30pm.

Gardaí said the driver of the e-scrambler bike failed to remain at the scene.

The road was closed for a technical examination but has since reopened.

The woman was brought to the Mater Hospital before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital for treatment.
