The two men who were arrested following the seizure of almost €3 million worth of heroin in Dublin city on Friday night have been charged.

The men, aged in their 30s and 40s, are set to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice tomorrow morning.

More than 21kg of heroin was discovered in Coolock on Friday night as part of an investigation by the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.

Gardaí intercepted and searched a vehicle in the area, within which the drugs were found.

The heroin was in 1kg blocks.

The drugs were submitted to the Forensic Science Ireland for examination.

Investigations are ongoing, gardaí said.
